LR has launched an online calculator to help the shipowner assess the cost of payment to meet the International Maritime Organization's 2020 global sulfur emission restrictions.
The assessment tool can calculate the impact of various provisions on potential costs and investment, so that the owner of the ship will budget and make decisions on the operational strategy of using marine diesel, heavy oil scrubbers, and other integrated fuels, as well as liquefied natural gas (LNG) and methanol.
